Default EL Headers

Alright so I've looked at the two different sort of headers, but I've seen the best reviews on the EL headers. I have also seen that the TWE headers can only be installed on MT...are all EL Headers like this and cannot be used on ATs? am curious...why is this?

thanks in advance

That link is for FI headers

I believe TWE makes a header to fit around the AT now. There's a pretty good thread on rallitek.net about this with some good pictures. There's also a comparison between a set of Cobbs and TWEs that will make you lean towards the purchase of the TWE header.

Hmm there may be some chassis differences there, yeah. I'm not positive, but drop the TWE guys a line. Or call them.

TWE definitely makes the best Subie headers in the business. The Cobb ones are nice, but TWE's are still better quality. (And I think you can buy them in mild steel OR stainless.... )

Yes, you lose some of the characteristic "boxer rumble," but it's been shown that the noise is a result of, of course, the UEL headers. Performance is improved with equal-length, and it's a design that--though some nostalgia may be lost--improves the car.

I'm planning on buying some when I do my turbo swap. (I'm thinkin' '04 FXT engine.)

someone on rallitek.net described the UEL blubby sound as "the sound of slow" ... love my Cobb's, although TWE's look nicer...

when i switched from stock header/cat/WRX apex'i N1 to brullen header/hi-flow cat/RS apex'i N1 i gained tons of low end torque, and I also keep the rumbling sound.

and handsdown is right, only borla makes header for EJ22, it's UEL tho.

I was saying that El headers don't really lose any bottom end torque (look at a dyno plot).
