Default Looking for 2.5 RX Info

I don't know if anyone has seen this but this

http://www.northursalia.com/download/motorweek22b.mpg

is for a MPEG of MotorWeek that shows the 0-60 and 1/4 mile for a 22b and the 2.5 RX. Check out the front mount intercoooler on the RX Does anyone know where to find the engine specs for the RX. That would be a good starting point to base turbo's for the RS off of maybe.

hehe the extra .3 liters helps the rx edge out even the 22b, but the wider body(amongst other things) on the 22b makes it handle like butta.

that's what I'm saying... after feeling an aluminum hood... I want one!!! where can we get the WRC hood (the one with the over-sized OEM looking vents, not the tear drop ones)

thanks,

-wop

A couple things:

The "2.5 RX" is the name of the one SOA showcar that you saw in the video. Bunch of aftermarket stuff on it. (iirc tho, the brakes are stock... they looked really small when I saw it in person) The vents on the 22B are available. Just ask for 22B style vents. I'm sure someone will sell you replicas. The hood is otherwise the same as every other GC8 Impreza WRX/RS.

he was talking about the hood on the rx not the 22b. The rx had a wrc type hood with the huge heat vents on top and is al.
Later.

The issues of SCC I believe are 2/99(begins), 5/99(gets turbocharged), 8/99(gets tuned). There might be one or two inbetween where some minor things take place, but those are the best ones I believe.

The hood(as well as the paint) is from Prodrive. The car used an Apex-i/IHI turbo and an Apex-i FMIC kit, both designed to be upgrades for the WRX. It also used the right side exhaust manifold and up-pipe from a WRX as well as the crossmember. An ACT clutch and lightweight flywheel took care of the slipping. It used a Vortech 8:1 RRFPR and a Mazda Cosmos fuel pump and was tuned with an Apex-i AFC and ITC. The times for the car were a 6.4 0-60mph(although they mentioned it could and should have been better) and a quarter mile of 14.4 and 95.8. Keep in mind though, this very well may have been the first turbocharged DOHC2.5 anywhere, and the project was thrown together as fast as possible to get ready for a car show. And to my knowledge, the motor and tranny were were never hurt. So all things considered, the car was a sucess.

In the video the RX turned a 13.3 @ 103 or something like that, and beat the 22b with slipping clutch.

I have all the motorweek videos to 2.5RS, WRX, and 22B linked off my photos page at SubaruPlanet.com/photos.htm
