will a stock wrx deck fit legacy?

yep, it will take up both din slots. even the harness is the same.

I was looking at the Kenwood Double DIN DVD player (the one that's a screen with the controls on the sides) on Crutchfield, but their guide said it wouldn't fit in my legacy. I heard that they were too deep. Not sure about the WRX's stock deck though...The easiest thing to do would to test fit it to make sure it fits. I wouldn't think the owner would mind see as he's your friend.

what is the going rate for a used wrx stereo head unit?

it'll fit just fine. when he's taking out the stock legacy deck though, remind him that there are mounting screws located below the deck, in the ashtray. I found out the hard way (30 minutes of pulling and cursing and wondering why the deck wouldn't come out).

for the going rate, check the for sale forum. Think it's usually around the low $100s.
