Default Rims Rubbing?

Im not sure if im going to have this problem, but i bought an 02 wrx and was thinking about getting some rims for it but i dont want them to rub. I used to have a 97 suby and i put 17's on it and they rubbed like a bastard. Any help is greatly appreciated. Also whats the deal with the offset of the rims?

offset I believe is +48. I was running 235/40/17 Azenis ST-115 on my sedan no problem. Now I have them on my '05 wagon and only had to remove the rear fender liner

I'm running 17" P1s on my wagon and had 215/45 for several years without any issues. When I replaced my tires this year I bumped up to 225/45's and had some rubbing issues.

Fixed by removing the rubber fender liner as mentioned above. I am assuming you have a sedan, so you will have fewer issues due to the wider fender wells.

I am assuming you checked this sticky:
