Default transmission help... is it broke?

Ok so I was driving the car today shifted from first to second somewhat fast and at a relatively desent RPM (1500) and went to go into 3rd and it seemd like I missed it. I immedietly pushed in the clutch to attempt to get it into 3rd and it seemed as if it would not go into gear?

Well as it turned out it was in gear the whole time 1st and now it will not come out of gear? the Shifter feels as if its in nuetral and will not push over to 2nd and 1st but I can push it over to 5th and reverse?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Any idea what the year and model Impreza you have?

I have had cars do that sort of thing when a clutch cylinder failed.

However since you ar Mr. MyNewImpreza, all the parts are still new and covered by the warranty.
