you mean the tips are 3" or the piping? cause if its the piping you are stupid and just got ripped off

dont mean to sound rude but now you have even less power than when you bought the car stock

^^^ What are you smoking?? He'd lose low end torque alittle but gain top end horsepower. So by "power" i assume you mean horsepower and he now has more. ALSO, maybe he didn't buy the exhaust for performance. I wanna buy an exhaust for just the sound.

^and that last quote makes me sad i ever got into cars. sound? whats the point so you can wake up a neighorhood when you floor it but your only goin 20mph yea thats real pointful.

and the mere hp you gain up top is meaningless to all that torque you just lost. so now to go any normal speeds you will have to redline your car, and suffer in gas mileage

83256, 22664, what's the difference?

Why would you upgrade a factory part, and pay $500 for sound?

There's another member on here that went from a 3" Apex'i N1 to a Brullen setup, IIRC, and he claims that the top end was left very minimally changed and the lack of a low end that he had lost with the WRX catback was restored using a properly designed and sized setup.

Spending money just to draw attention to your car without any gain to back it up is able.

the piping is 3"...they built this exhaust for those who want to do a swap or put on a turbo.

3" is definitely too large for an N/A 4-cylinder. That's pretty well established, around here. And a lot of other places. (2.25" is ideal, some say 2.5" is good for high-power N/A cars.)

But....

That IS a very nice-looking exhaust. Looks a bit like the Autospeed WRX one.

here is a pic of it on the car...

The reason why I have it on is cause the company (Vibrant Performance) actually built this exhaust on my car (mock up). To thanks me, they gave me a final product of it and at the same time, I had to proof fit it for them...that's all

pointless.. like your posts... Dont beat the guy up and call him stupid and tell him what he does is pointless. Maybe hes workin up to a turbo...maybe not.. maybe he wanted to find out for himself if 3" would be slower. Instead of blasting the guy, ask if it made improvements or not. Not everyone goes solely by word of internet you know. And look at that.... there is a good reason..

Oh...and by the way...I think I explained that wrong..let's try this again..

-->The tips are dual 3". The exhaust piping is only 60mm O.D. (2-3/8")<--

Excuse my French....lol
for the audio clip, I'll try to make one tonight.

that's me...
a few points to clear
1. WRX N1 has tubing diameter of 2.55" - 2.55" - 3.05". With 3" all the way throught catback, he probably won't have any power below 2500 rpm at all (my car didn't have any power below 2000 rpm, even in 1st or 2nd gear, if i floor it, the car would hesitate for a split of second and start accelerating once it passes 2000 rpm)

2. the lack of high end from my new set up, which is brullen header/hi-flow cat, RS Apex'i N1 (tubing diameter 2.35" all the way through), is probably due to the hole in my axleback (about 1.5" long 0.5" wide). I'm gonna get a WRX axleback and see if that will fix the problem.

EDIT:
negative comments to sikken or vibrant performance removed. It's a big misunderstanding and I apologize for my stupidity.

Thanks Jack for reminding me of doing this.

anonymous_wolf - this particular unit will be one variant of the dual tip systems we will be offering to replace the ones which were previously made by Brullen for us.

The picture was to show the tip styles of the system. Our picture was provided by our good friends at Vibrant

so that exhaust is designed by ion performance w/ the muffler from vibrant performance? now everything makes sense (slap on forehead)

sikken, my apology to you. I didn't mean to put you down or make you look like an idiot. I just don't like the idea of taking other people's design and claim it's their own. Nonetheless, now that I know it's just a misunderstanding I felt idiotic for what I said. Hope you don't mind.

now, is it possible for you to get some sound clips?
i think most of us would like to hear how it sounds
