Looks like an SSR SP1 replica. Can't really find anything on google about it, though.

It is a brand new Rota wheel called the D2. It's going to be available in various offsets and I have heard some of them will be Subaru app.

you can look at that wheel and see it will not fit any subaru, unless you are wide body or something. also expect hub death if you go with a wheel like that.

Most of the time you seem like you know what you're talking about...

I've noticed that Rota does not keep their site up-to-date very well. Just because it isn't on the site doesn't mean they don't either have it in the works and/or do not make it.

Are you one of those premium brand wheel snobs or something? Not everyone can afford to pay crazy prices for high-end wheels.

I understand I may sound like a premium wheel snob by saying that. I do understand it's great to be able to make replica parts that are more affordable. It's great for the consumer.

My objections are that ROTA seems to make a replica of every "rare" "jdm- style" wheel, it dilutes the rarity of those wheels.

very well put SeattleWRX! what bothers me the most is that some wheel whore spends large amounts of money to buy a rare/discontinued wheel only to have it knocked off and lose the exclusiveness.

Buy wheels that look good to you , not rare to everyone else who have no idea it is even rare in the first place.

You know what else is funny...Having to use a centering ring on a $600 volk wheel because it's not hubcentric. For $600 that wheel should fit like it came from subaru, not pepboys.

I've never had volks, but haven't heard of anyone having fitment issues.

Maybe Rota should take over the jdm fad with PDM!

Seems odd that one would be worried about the "rarity" of his or her JDM wheels when so many things are knockoffs already (clothes, shoes, mp3 players, etc.). If the wheels are that cool and "original", then the owner would know this and should be happy. Most people wouldn't know what wheels they are looking at anyway, and think most look the same. But if the owner is simply concerned with what others think about his wheels, then he has other issues to deal with.

I guess there's different ways to look at it, but why mod your car? so it doesn't look like every other WRX or STI out there right? Yes some do it for personal preference regardless if everyone has it our not.

Some of us seek to be original and stand out in a crowd. What about show cars or magazine cars? Do they have issues because they covet rare or premium wheels that very few people have?

I mod my car to make it handle better and go faster. I am not looking for a show piece, although I do appreciate a nice looking and well thought-out ride. I personally do not care for over-weight show cars buried under stereo equipment or cars that will fold up when they hit the next pothole (or just high center on the speed bump before it ).

No, my point is more of not wasting one's time with worrying over knock-offs, when you know you have the real deal, and it will be appreciated by those who are in the know. I leave worrying over cheap copies to those that have money on the line (copyright and patent owners, trademark holders, etc.).
