I could be wrong, but I think in order to run the JDM climate control, you also have to run a JDM ECU. I think.

Even if you get the JDM HAVC, you are still going to have a mess of problems. The USDM uses a cable to switch from hot to cold; I am guessing that with the JDM unit there is some sort of motor that controls the hot/cold.

The temperature is also going to be displayed in Celsius.

Please do not post your signature anymore. It is annoying and this site does not use them for a reason.

JDM climate control has automatic temp control. Like the 2005 legacy's.

Yes, you would need the motor that controls the hot/cold. As well as all of the sensors, wires, and controls.

Some time ago there was one on ebay with all of the parts and the wiring diagram too.

I don't think integrating the wiring would be to bad with the diagrams. I'm already rewiring 60% of his car.

It is much more complicated than it looks. I've got the actual auto-HVAC unit sitting in a box collecting dust to prove it. There are many sensors, motors, and other things which will project the price of the project beyond the functionality.

I was also told by a local subaru jdm swap etc shop that the motors are in the actual condensor unit, which you would also require...and is not cheap.

I noticed that ebay package a while back too, which looked like it included everything you needed. Wonder who picked it up.

Bottom line is that I calculated costs to be approaching 500 bucks...a lot more things I'd rather spend that 500 bucks on.

**note, all this is for BE, and I don't know how previous generation hvac units differ.
