I hear the older legacy hoods DO fit. I think they were 550ish

I vaguely recall someone here tried a Legacy grill and found it didn't fit, in which case, the hood wouldn't fit either. I'm too lazy to do a search.

The more I think about it, the more I could go for a CF hood. It would look sharp on my black T.

exactly, the legacy grill is just as wide, but shorter, leaving a 1/2 inch gap or so between a baja or outback bumper when used with a standard legacy grill. It should fit the hood fine though.

I'm the one that tried to retrofit an aftermarket Legacy grill on my Baja.

Actually, the height isn't the problem. It may be a tad short but nothing noticeable really. There's also about an inch on either side that's not filled by the Legacy grill on the Baja hood.

It's confusing, because the Legacy guys swap with Baja hood no problem. There's a few threads in the Legacy forum about it if you search.

Between me, my mechanic, and the distributor of the aftermarket grill (CCB) we couldn't make it work. Good luck, post up if you give it a shot.
