I'm not embarrased by a no name IC. The only thing I care about is ET. We'll see what it can do.

Can the JDM Bumper Beam fit with the Turbo XS front mount?

Looks like if things work out, in a few weeks Fedex will pay for me $500 for my busted up TXS FMIC they shipped. I'll probably end up buying this one. If I do, I'll bump the thread and let you guys know how it fits/performs.

Pics are indeed the same as Turbo XS (www.turboxs.com, check for yourself)

As someone already pointed out, these could be TurboXS "B-stock" or "2nd's."

Or they cold be grey-market from the actual manufacturer through, well, grey channels. I highly doubt TurboXS completely owns the manfacturing process for their FMIC. At best they weld the endtanks on, maybe even fab the pipes, but I doubt that.

Has anyone actually seen a burmese soda can so we can judge the quality? I mean, maybe burmese soda cans are made from aircraft grade aluminum, and by saying its not made from the burmese soda cans.. its actually a bad thing? lol.

No BOV in the kit, but that outlet is clearly a standard type BOV outlet, not the Subaru flange. And what is that crazy bracket for? Replacement bumper beam?

It replaces the bumper beam. Just like the TXS kit, well, because it seems to be the same. The pic of the parts lying out on a cardboard box and red cloth don't seem to be from TXS, but the parts look the same and the other two pictures are the same as on TXS's website. That bracket is too unique to be a coincidence.

Interested in how it turns out, scoobie1.

I'm sure this IC will be just fine. My car is a drag car, no bumper at all, no ABS, no SRS, no A/C, no power steering, no HVAC controls, no swaybars, etc. So the way it fits on my car won't really say much. I have removed OEM tank, fabbed an aluminum trunk interior to box in my fuel cell, eight point homemade cage, so getting this to fit will be a no-brainer. BIG azz FMIC for $350! See it at E-town for the shootout. Make fun of it all you want.
No doubt about that...the SSAC TBE I have fits great, sounds great, and was reasonably priced. I bet this IC is good....(and by good I mean GOOD, not, OK for the price, or what). Like you said, even TXS has fitment issues. That doesn't mean they are crap. This one might even fit better since it isn't mass produced. Maybe they took a little more time and made sure it fit.

Hey what would you know... You have a 10 second Subaru!!!!

Its funny most subaru owners are like Vette owners... they automaticly assume "Mo Money = Mo betta!" Maybe you guys enjoy buying the same stuff at 2x-3x the price, but those of us that just like results and not impressing our friends... We can settle for no name stuff that works just as well.

What would concern me about this intercooler would be the thickness of the walls of the pipes, and the ease of fitment as well as how well it fits.

It could very well be great. Or it could be junk. I would love to see one in person, as thats a hell of a price for what LOOKS like a decent FMIC

I agree it could be crap. No question about it. But on the same note it could be as good as the rest of the crap kits people sell for $1000+ dollars.

I ordered their perrin "copy" front pulley for $50. Beats paying $125 and it's not risking much money.

I think they are made from reprocessed belly-button lint.

They are not selling our kits, our old kits, or using any of our parts. Our intercooler kits go though final assembly in our factory in Aus. These are knock-off kits out of China. We have been working with US customs, EBAY, and a gaggle of lawyers in both the US and China to shut these guys down.

As an interesting note, the last one of these I managed to inspect didn't have offset fins on the inside of the intercooler so that the air traveling though the core doesn’t really cool very much.

I am 99% sure that the parts in the picture are our parts with their logo spray-painted on them. The parts they are selling do not look quite the same.

Here's the "all your base are belong to us" response I received:

GOES THROUGH FOGLAMPS LIKE ALL FMIC
XS POWER MAKES THE CORE
CFM DATA I WILL HAVE LATER

Goes through foglamps? I assume that means you will lose them? XS Power makes the core? Sure....

I would not trust it, just like those knockoff chopper kits from Mexico. I would not trust the welds of unkown company/ welder!

If this a direct copy of the TXS FMIC then do not purchase it... Its that simple. Go to the company that designed the product and do not support these people. I for one have values I live by and buying a knock off is against those values. Those values are worth way more then $500.

Why didn't you get a M3? Couldn't swing the monthly payments?

I effin hate people who take the condesending attittude that if you don't get the "best" (read: most expensive) then you're scum.

We drive a god damn subaru. It's the best sports car FOR THE MONEY. It's not like the Impreza was our dream car and we thought about a 911 but decided for a box with a big wing.

I for one am not gonna pay $900 for an intercooler if there is one that does exactly the same thing for $400. Apparently the extra $500 is worth it to you so you can turn your nose up to other members on the board.
