The RS does not have an open center diff, and the car will not drive as though it does without the DCCD controller- it will remain unadjustable but still function. If you want to hook up the DCCD, there are aftermarket controllers available that are easier to hook up and less expensive than the factory bits.

are you referring to a six speed? because you cant hook up dccd on a normal wrx tranny since its not an electronic center diff. Just asking because some people have assumed that you can on the 5mt.

First of all the DCCD controller is not hard to wire up for basic manual operation. If you want to run it in auto mode then you will need to hook up a lot more wires and sensors along with an STI ecu. If youre getting a US STi tranny just be sure to get the roller knob and DCCD controller, that way you can control the distribution of torque from 65R/35F to 50R/50F, and some in betweens. I currently have a JDM 6 speed with DCCD controller hooked up and run it 99% of the time in default which is 65R/35F and lock up the center diff whenever I have to, like at the track.

He should have access to an STi manual since he works at Subaru. I will try to find a pdf dccd controller pinout and e mail it to you. Just PM me your e mail adress and I will send it to you as soon as I find it.
