Default 05 Legacy seatbelt chime

Does anyone else want to rip the dash apart and remove the chime. It starts right after you start the car and continues every 15 sec. The dealers says that if you turn the ignition on and buckle/unbuckle the belt 20 times in 30 sec it will stop it, but that does not work. I am going to take the plug in the latck assy apart and short it so it thinks i am buckled... any other suggestions

search.

if not here, then search legacygt.com.

the 'proper' instructions for how to do it are around but does involve something like what your dealer said.

Here's the thread.

On that note, I wonder why Subaru decided on a magic number of 20 buckles in 30 seconds to disable the devil chime.

Someone should make an instructional video then mail it back to SOA. I'm sure one of their engineers will get some guilty pleasure for torturing users like this.
