Yeah, that's about right.

Default Self serve car wash in Metrotown area?

Can somebody recommend a good self serve car wash in Burnaby near Metrotown? I need to get my car all pretty for the VLS BBQ on Saturday afternoon.

Preferably one with "de-ionized water" (aka spot free rinse), if such a thing exists in Vancouver...

There's one on Royal Oak, just beside the Skytrain station.

Hey, I might pop-on by to say "Hi" to you if you're going to be at Spanish Banks. I'm going to my friend's wedding tomorrow in UBC - just a pebbles-throw away from Spanish Banks. What colour is your car? Mine's a BRP coupe.

LaterZ!
Darren!!

Hey Darren, seeing as how I have no idea how to get to Spanish Banks, you wanna meet up beforehand and cruise in together?

Well, I wouldn't say it's good, but that's the only self-serve car wash that I know... I always go there to vaccum my car.

Umm, meet up before hand? Sorry. No can do - why? Cauz I"ll be at my friend's wedding. I *guess* you could crash it if you want!

Anywayz, here are the general directions to Spanish Banks:
Go west/north along Kingsway from Burnaby into Vancouver
**Make a left turn and head West along Broadway ave.
Go along Broadway until you hit Alma st. (it's quite a ways west from Broadway and Kingsway), and then make a right turn and head north along Alma.
Make a left turn and head west along 4th ave.
Watch for signs that say Jericho beach/Spanish Banks (can't remember exactly what it says) on your right hand side. You'll come to this intersection where 4th ave. curves to the left after the stop light, and then there'll be a road that leads to the right. You'll need to take the road that leads to the right -- that's NW Marine Drive.
Follow the twisties along NW Marine Drive (don't drive crazy -- there'll be alot of people/cars/cylists there). The beach will be on your right hand side.

DOH! Just remember'd why I put the ** up there. I can't recall off of the top of my head, but you *may* not be able to make a left turn from Kingsway onto Broadway. I know for SURE that you can't make a left turn from Broadway onto Kingsway, but I"m not sure about the other way. If that's the case, you can just head west along 12th avenue, make a right at Alma as before, and you'll be fine.

Just enjoy the view and follow NW Marine until you get to the BBQ. Oh yeah, don't join the dark side of the r*ce-scene people! j/k!

I'll probably be there around 2ish or so. The wedding is at 11, and there's a reception afterwards. I'll give you a call before I leave -- I've got your cell from your post @ revscene.

LaterZ!
Darren!!

ps -- if anybody has better directions, please post them!

No, he attended the Revscene VLS (Vancouver Life Styles) BBQ meet.

Revscene Import Chat had a totally different meet.

VLS is cool to read and participate, Import Chat sucks

So Joe, did you find your bag yet?

Heard about that crazy French guy... lol

Hey it's never too late to try!

Actually the ricescene BBQ was better than I expected -- definitely a more streetracer-oriented crowd than i-Club, but they were mostly pretty cool. Actually I just got back from a jaunt up Sea-To-Sky with some of those folks.

And death_blossom, the California plates are a dead giveaway on my car. If you see anybody else driving it, please stop them immediately and phone authorities, because I would've just been JACKED!!! hehe
