Default Wheel decisions...

The dilemma: limited cash but want to find some lightweight (less than 18 lbs) wheels that are less than $1200. 04 STI wheels have been considered but need cash (have low apr credit card).
Preference: 17 x 8 is ideal, but would go with a 17 x 7.5; less than 17 lbs is ideal (would settle for 17.X). No 5 spoke wheels.
Wheels I like but don't fit the description: Rota torque and 5 zigen pro racer Gn+ (both too heavy), I love SSR comps in anthracite with machine lip (way too expensive), and I like the OZ Superleggera in gunmetal but they're only 17x7 (don't want 18x8).
My car: 2004 wrx sedan with prodrive springs.
ABSOLUTELY ANY SUGGESTIONS would be helpful (zipping up flamesuit)
Thanks

dude im in the exact same boat as you. i want 17x8 but ive only found three wheels that come in that size. the rota's like you said and the work emotions and the wedssport sa90. none of these wheels would be light enough for you. ive looked everywhere and this is all i can find. my ideal wheels are the volk le37t but i dont think they come in that size and theyre too expensive anyways. if anyone has any suggestions let us know.

I'm selling two brand new SSR Comps in Anthracite. They are 17X7.5. If you really like the SSRs heres a way to get new ones and save a few bucks.

I really love them too but I have decided to go ahead and get an STI so I'm selling my stuff off.

Rofl, i can't believe your buying strategy is based around one or two pounds of wheel weight.

17x8 Torque weighs 18.5lbs at most; 1.5lbs more than your 17lb goal.

You really think 1.5lb of rotational mass on a 45lb wheel/tire combo will even do anything? you do realize that you're talking like 2-4% differences?

If you're actually going to use this strategy, I'm assuming your interior is already gutted, you're racing for money, etc..

Good luck buddy
