Is my baja Loud?

I know I have only had my 2005 baja turbo 500 miles but the engine seems loud when in idle. I probably hyper sensitive and not used to the Boxxer sound. But is this normal? around 800 rpms it just seems noisy.

I love the thing perhaps this will go away after my first oil change which I plan on doing early.(1000miles). Then again it might be in my head.

I thought my Baja-T, and most other Subarus I've driven, seemed very quiet at idle, almost to the point of "is it on?"

Is it an exhaust sound you are hearing? Valve tap? How is your oil level?

It is very quiet inside. The perceived noise is just from the engine itself and it is probably less noisy than unusual at least to me. Sputtery might best way to describe it. Like I said I sure I am just paranoid. Not sure what valve tap would sound like. But the oil level is fine (it better be this is a brand new car).

I think mine is relatively quiet (came from a 4g63 with 3" turboback). I do notice however, that the exhaust note can be quite deep and loud at idle depending on which and how many windows are open.
All closed = quiet
All open = quiet
Passenger only open = Pretty loud and deep.
