Default Looking for a good paint shop in the Alexandria area.

Besides Wagonwerks.

I know of a few further out in Manassas, Fairfax and Herndon.

But I really would like to find one pretty close to Alexandria if possible.

Thanks

Precision Auto Body in Newington/Springfield was good. As was Car Craft Collision on Backlick Road (also Springfield). Perfection Auto Body on Fullerton (Springfield) was ok - very fast & very affordable, but not all the work was quality. My old urethane front bumper didn't like their paint, and I had drips & cracking issues. But they smoothed some body panels perfectly.

Thank you very much.

So who do you think is better Precision or Car Craft?

also, for Precision I have 2 addresses -

8717 Silverbrook Rd
Lorton, VA

7901 Kincannon Pl
Lorton, VA

Are they both the same company?

I don't remember the exact address. Car Craft fixed a bunch of our family cars when they were in accidents. Precision probably has a better reputation.

Whatever you do don't goto NT autobdy and paint in alexandria....I took my car there after I rally'd into the back of a corolla on 66. they replaced the bumper and painted it. now its 1 year later and the paint is peeling off. Doesn't even look like any primer was used. And there is a perfect handprint under my passenger side mirror that is duller than the rest of the car. Looks like the painter kneeled down to work on the bumper and had some clearcoat or something on his hand

I'm sorry to hear that. Yeah, I'll stay away from that place.

Earl Schieb (sp?) 2 blocks south from WaterWorks on Rt 1...

... avoid like the plague!

I had the roof and hood of my Jetta done there. What a knucklehead operation that place was(/is). Tons of overspray, wrinkles, drips, and horrible prep work. After 1 year all shine of the new paint was gone and looked duller than the 10 year old paint on the rest of the car.

Not that you have gone there anyways... but perhaps if someone searches to this thread some time.
