Default Goodyear Products

Long story but I have Goodyear Assurance Tripletread tires on now. They ride like rocks. The handling is great but the ride is really too harsh. They have a 30 day exchange warranty with them. So I can exchange them for another Goodyear product, which includes Dunlop.

I have '98 RS rims on the car which are 7" wide. So I really should go up to 215/55-16 while I am at it correct? Currently at stock 205/55-16.

Can anyone give any feedback on the Dunlop SP Sport A2? I have a GT wagon but really do not drive the aggressive. It seems to be the only tire that fits what I think I need.

Remember I am stuck with Goodyear products for this set of tires......

Thanks for the input,

Peace,

Greg

Luke, I am at 40 right now. I didn't notice any difference between 35 and 40. But that was on the highway. I should try 35 again around town. The max on the tire is 44.

Express, I do not know what the 55 to 50 will do to/for me? The 215 on a 7" wide rim is slightly larger than stock so it should be OK.

Luke, any thoughts on product options?

Thanks for the help,

Peace,

Greg

the assurance are nice tires. my friends father's shop is a goodyear dealer and put them on his acura legend in 205 60 15s and proceeded to beat the bag out of them all weekend on a camping trip. the dunlops are a nice tire for the money, but wear out too quick which they supposedly fixed with the A2 plus. i like the yoko avid H4S over the dunlops.

I would prefer Avids over the Goodyears but poop happens.

Do you know what pressure you had them set at? AT 35 and 40 the pot-holes and expansion joints thud through the cabin.

32 sounds like it would be too low for a tire rated at 44 max. Any thoughts on that?

I had also heard that they will soften with time, any experience with that?

Thanks,

Peace,

Greg

I tried 32 this weekend and it just looks too low. Plus I had an odd vibration at 65. I am sure they have no load capabilities at 32 also.

I think I am just going to go with some RS-As. That way I will have some local support. The local Goodyear guy does not carry Dunlop in stock so he would have to order them.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Peace,

Greg

i would try to run those tires at like 34 F and 32 R. RS-As are decent tires too, not sure what is the better tire.
