Unhappy totaled my car today....

I went to my first rallycross today, and it was the funnest thing I think I've ever done.

On the way home driving through Tacoma, traffic was bad.....

Going maybe 40-50mph, plenty of room ahead of me....

next thing I knew I was coughing and crying with airbag powder all over my face looking at my hood folded in half and vertical.

I am FINE, had a bad bloody nose from the airbag, and my skin on my hand stings from the airbag, but nothing broken.

My car is dead. I loved that car more than anything, and had JUST got it where I had always wanted to get it (JUST got the hood, bumper, everything). Now just like that its all toast........

Please drive carefully out there.

Well, the car can't be fixed. It was mangled, lets just put it that way.

And I really don't know what happened. Traffic was horrible, but not moving that fast (as I said, like 40-50mph maybe). What I think happened was something like this...

there was a jeep liberty, then a black smaller car, then my friend Anna's car (she was racing at the rallycross too, its an old subaru wagon), then me. The jeep stopped very suddenly for some reason, so the black car swerved off the road to avoid it, then Anna swerved to avoid the jeep and hit the black car, and then I went straight into the Jeep. I think thats basically what happened. But it was instant, I just remember coughing and wheezing (airbags smell like ****) and FREAKING out about my car (wasn't concerned whether I was hurt at all)

Luckily, I was hurt the worst of anybody, and it was just a bloody nose, and a banged up knee. Nobody else had anything. My car got the worst of it too.

Saddest thing ever...... Anna pointed out my STi fog cover laying in the middle of the freeway getting run over by cars....... I had just got that bumper on the car

Aw man, I'm sorry to hear that. It is depressing, but your car performed its last duty, and that was to protect you in a collision. Airbag smell and taste are compromises unfortunately. Don't let the situation eat you up though. Cheer up

sorry to hear, total suckage.

here hope this cheers you up,

Car Accidents...

* I collided with a stationary truck coming the other way.
* As I approached an intersection a sign suddenly appeared in a place where no stop sign had ever appeared before. I was unable to stop in time to avoid the accident.
* My car was legally parked as it backed into another vehicle.
* The other car collided with mine without giving warning of its intention.
* A truck backed through my windshield into my wife's face.
* I had been shopping for plants all day and was on my way home. As I reached an intersection a hedge sprang up, obscuring my vision and I did not see the other car.
* I was on the way to the doctor with rear end trouble when my universal joint gave way causing me to have an accident.
* I told the police that I was not injured, but on removing my hat found that I had a fractured skull.
* The indirect cause of the accident was a little guy in a small car with a big mouth.
* I started to slow down but the traffic was more stationary than I thought.

Traffic on I-5 can be pretty gawddamn hairy, i've gottena few near misses with stop and go suddenly clearing up to 40-50, and then people start slamming on there brakes again.

Gahhhhhhhh!!!!

Yeah, today was bad for some reason...must have been just the nice weather bringing out all the "don't drive often" types. I was coming north on I-5 in Tacoma and came across a car/motorcycle accident that looked pretty bad. I think Tacoma is now worse than Seattle as far as traffic.

Wow I bet your insurance sucks! That is about the worst run of bad luck in cars I have ever heard of.

I don't blame you for crying. I would be too. you were going to be going on that vancouver island drive too with me and was looking forward to seeing you. If you want you can ride with one of us. Just meet at the ferry terminals with an alternative ride at 9am and we could manager to give you a ride with us. that might cheer you up. I'd be happy to pay for you too. Sorry to hear that. Bootch99rs and myself was driving through seattle today. thank God nothing like that happend. Man you gotta be careful in traffic!

Right by the air force base? What time? Directly behind us there was a car/motorcycle accident, I think that was caused by them avoiding us.

Thanks Jon, maybe its that STi grill, eh? Dang thing just brings bad luck (I don't think it looks fixable after this one )

I'm hoping I won't be carless for too long, but I know its going to be hard. I know this - I'm getting another Impreza. I don't car what kind, but I'm not going to be driving any other car. Not after the fun I've had in that car, how well it drove, and how well it did in this case. I couldn't see myself driving anything else

Here's a nice observation of humanity.....

While I was standing next to my car crying like crazy looking at the mess I had made of my car, blood ALL over my face and clothes, some big dude drives by in a HUGE SUV and yells "Learn to drive!!!"

idiot
