Question Shaking/Roughness on slow starts?

I've noticed ever since I got my MY04 Wagon that when I let the clutch out slowly at a low RPM from a stop that there is some shaking until I am completely off the clutch. It doesn't happen if the RPMs are above 3k but I like to leave stops normally at more like 1.5-2k to save gas and wear on the clutch. This never happened with my old Spec-V but I thought it might have something to do with AWD or the hydraulically dampened clutch on the WRX. Is it better to start at a higher RPM...am I doing something wrong or should I have the dealer look into this?

TIA

Dan

I don't know about you but I usually leave stop without reving my engine. In another words I let the clutch go and then apply gas. I don't see why I'd need to have a 1.5-2k start in every stop. You are wearing the clutch just a little more than you have to if you do that all the time.

If my car shakes on slow starts it usually means that I'm letting the clutch out too slow.

I don't rev either but once the clutch engages its usually at 1.5k...I match the gas with the friction point but I almost always get some shaking when I do so.

I would think it means he's letting out the clutch too fast. If you do it slowly it will be smooth, but wear out the clutch faster.

You should be able to smoothly start with around 1-1.5k RPMs and not take off too slowly.
