Default Axis Wheels Maxis Lip System - SWEET!

I think this is pretty innovatove (same width and offset, with PHAT rear lip) :

Axis Wheels Maxis Lip System

Axis Wheels proudly introduces the Maxis Lip System that allows cars that can not take a staggered wheel application (wider wheel and tire in the rear) and gives them the staggered look. On the Decade, the front lip is 2 inches deep, on the rear with the Maxis Lip, the lip is 3 1/4 inches deep and gives the look of a much wider wheel on the rear of the car

http://www.axiswheels.com/axis_maxis_lip.html

Does any vendor stock these?

Wow, tEh hotness to be sure, those prices are right on, as well. Any news on correct offsets or weights? What about compatability with aftermarket brakes?

Pretty cool... axis does make some nice wheels. I would love that staggered look on a widebody subaru.

Don't know if it will work on our cars because the offset is so high already. It'll be interesting to see what they offer for Subies.

bump for a vendor, Also I was wondering if the MAXIS lips with fit over the stock 2-pot FRONT brakes. SICK 3 1/4" lips all around!

(I e-mailed AXIS, no response yet)

I'd prefer running 3 1/4" lips all around also, that would look ridiculously nice.

I think if somebody were gonna run this staggered-appearing setup on an AWD car it might not be good because if you take a look at the weight charts on that site, the rear wheels (w/ the huge lips) weigh one pound less than the front ones, so all four be balanced front to back.

Then again, I guess you could always add a pound of wheel weights to the rear wheels (if that's possible).

Any one else have thoughts on that?

Will that fit? 40 seems awful low but 8" is a pretty wide wheel so it might balance out?

Does axis make custom offsets? I know some other wheel manufacturers do that.

does that really come into play? I mean, the front rotors are probably a pound heavier than the rear rotors, so isnt the weight different already? So one is just easier to turn than the other. I think what matters most is the diameter of the wheels.

uhhh...this is nothing new...i ran staggered offsets on my Work VS-XXs on my STi. same width, just different offsets. it was like a 1" lip in the front and a 2" in the rear. granted, its not 3 1/4" but its also not some revolutionary design for subarus.

well it sort of is. All Axis is doing is changing the wheel disk. WORK Wheels has been doing it for years. Its so you can have caliper clearence for the front, and a big lip in the rear. This, inturn, makes the front "lip" smaller BUT you have the SAME OFFSETS. For a given wheel, lets say those VS-XX's in a 18x8 with an offset of +30, with the front wheels on an R-Disk (high clearence), and the rear on an O-Disk (low clearence)...this will make for a different lip size, but you still have the same offset. Get it?

I know...I am saying that you can get that ricer stagger fitment by ONLY changing the disk, not the offset. This is what Axis is doing. Your setup is basically the same...2mm difference in offset can be said to be nothing though...
