Default Help-Putting 2.5RS scoop and vents on 97 2.2L?

hey fellas, I wanted to put 2.5 vents and hood scoop on my ventless/scoopless 97 2.2L coupe. must I get a new hood? that would entail a LOT more, so my question is: what's preventing me (mechanically/cosmetically) from just bolting on the scoop/vents directly onto my hood right now? im assuming they're flat, so fit wont be a problem, but is there something that I'm no seeing? thanks in advance, Mike

nothing is stopping you from cutting a hole on your hood. But keep in mind about the safety. Your hood isnt meant to cut a whole and put a hood scoop on. You might as well find someone to trade hoods with you.

Just buy a 2.5RS hood and put it on your 2.2l. It should bolt right up, I think.

The vents are not flat, they have the hood character line going thru the middle of them. Best thing would be to find either a 2.5RS or Impreza Outback Sport hood and just swap it. I never remeber if the 97 needs the grill and headlights swapped, too, though. I don't think so, but I'm not positive.

The hood is indented where the scoop and vent bolt to it. See the picture of my OBS hood. To do it right you really should hold out for a rear RS or OBS hood.
