well I've been reading up in my Hyper Rev as well as seeing what others have run.
I notice that alot of the Japanese Tuner companys use a 245/40 on thier Impreza's w/ that Rim size or even 9"wide. I hear that is the Perfect Replacement for Stock Rolling diameter, only a little wider to get use of a 8.5" wide wheel? I have TEIN flex and they are set to the Tein Measurements (Slammed) and still think a 245/40 would fit but someone said NO,..Thats still to wide for a Lowered STi w/ 8.5's? anyway..what size should I go for that would keep rolling stock Diameter w/o a Huge Sidewall but enough to not have to roll fenders? I guess bigger would make the Gears longer and smaller would make quicker gears?

255/40/17 is the same diamiter as the stock 225/45/17. I would go with that. Since U have an 04 STI U might need to roll the fenders a little.

Depends on your wheel's offset, and the particular tire you choose.
I have a couple of sets of +48 17x8.5s. With Eibach springs I've rubbed using shaved 225/45s (Pirelli PZero System Asimmetrico) and not rubbed using 245/40s (Pirelli PZero Nero M&S). I rolled the rear fenders and that solved the rear rubbing issue, though the 225s still rubbed on the front innerfender liner. Raise your height a bit and you shouldn't have problems, depending on offset. |
