Default Rota Formula Question

I'm dabbling with the idea of going with bigger and wider wheels. What I'd really like is a set of S401 BBS Wheels, but unfortunately I'm not a Sultan, and cannot afford them. Instead, I'm looking at Rota Formula's. My question is this - Will a 245 width tire fit on an 18x8? What offset would I need in order to fit STi Brembo's under them? Thanks for all the help.

Jonathan

245s will fit fine on the formula meshes. it is sold in 18x8 48 offset which clears brembos fine. the only question is if you have the clearance for that size of rim and tire...

I sure do...One of the good things about the BE is the meaty tires you can fit under them.

Oh, and while we're on the subject, does anyone know how much I could sell my BBS RK's for? They're 17x7, 5x100, +48 wrapped in Falken FK451 GRB 225/45/17's. I have rode on them for about 3k miles. What's the going rate on these? Thanks!

Gah..I just realized that I actually meant Formel and not Formula. And, from the looks of SubyDude's site, they don't come in 18's, nor do they fit over the STi Brembo's. Can anyone confirm this?

Definately no 18s or I'd be all over them. Not sure on the Brembos.

I agree, but unless they fit the Brembo's, I'd be better off to stick with my RK's, because they're much lighter. I'd really like to get 18's, because I think they would look even better on my car.

I like the formula mesh's better anyway... plus they fit over the brembo's, and come in 18x8 for those meaty tires you mentioned earlier. Besides the Formels don't look nearly as much like the S401 wheels.

To fit over STi brakes, I think you'll need 17x8 or 18x8 wheels. Look what people are running on their STi's and that will give you a good idea. I think my buddy's wheels are 17x8 (Rota SDR's) on his STi. no way a 7.5" wheel would fit over those monsterous calipers.

[jedi mind trick]you must give those tires to iamrazor[/jedi mind trick]

These are the S401 Wheels:

These are Rota Formels:

These are the Forumla's:

IMHO, the Formels look almost identical to the S401's; however, from further research, I believe the Formels are not going to work for the following reasons:

- I think they're discontinued
- The won't fit over STi Brembo's
- They aren't made in 18"

So, it looks like I'll be using a set of the Formula's. They're 18x8 with +48, and they will fit over STi Brembo's (a mod I plan on getting in the not-so-distant future.)

Now here's the real question - Who wants my wheels?

Might want to start a FS thread w/ photos.

Also, I need rubber so if you find someone who only wants the wheels, lemme know.
