I do run my 99 RST (stock engine) for 128,000km and 66,000km of then with my turbo setup at 10psi. (the car only run in summer)
The compression is OK and the leek down test is ok but I am scared as hell to blow it in the week or month to come!!! So I dit my plan for next summer: -STI short block swap with my RS head(to buy) -Hydra Nemesis EMS (to buy) -Front mont IC (to buy) -565cc JDM pink injectors (buy) BUT I will not be able to find all the money I need to make all that in one time, so can you help me to make te right choise??? So this is my setup: Performances modifications Lachute 3"/2,5" Turbo/Back Exhaust Borla Gen.4 Header Zero Sport Radiator Wind Deflector Halley Fuel Pump (650 hp) Cobb Tuning Cams (mild street) HKS Super Mega Flow Air Filter HKS Intake Go Fast Bits Blow Of Valves ASR 2.25" Up-Pipe ASR 3.0" Down-Pipe 03 WRX Intercooler Turbonetics (T3/T4 Garrett) Turbo Turbonetics Delta-Gate Wastgate Turbonetics Manual Boost Controler(10psi) Bell Engineering Fuel Pressure Riser B&N Oil Engine Cooler Unorthodox Racing Full Pulley Kit WRX 420cc Injectors Wide Band Gauge TechEdge VDO Oil Presure Gauge VDO EGT Gauge VDO Boost Gauge Fuel/Pressure Gauge CYBERDYNE Extreme VDO Tack APEX'i S-AFC Split Second TMC1 (timing controler) I want to run 19pis of boost so I need a front mont IC or can I live with my 03 WRX tmic for a year??? I need a engine management to drive the 565cc injectors or can I live with the s-afc and the tmc1 for next summer??? I buy my STI short block next summer or keep my RS block and be gentle with it and drop the boost and buy the Hydra and the front mont IC and buy the STI short bloc in 2 year??? WHAT SHOULD I DO please???

10psi on a 99RST should be plenty of fun... depends on why you want the extra power for. A 99 block at 10 psi I don't think it will blow... BUT that depends on the tuning.
I would wait until you NEED the motor (NEED = BLOW your engine)... then worry about everything else. I would get a standalone first, then you can get everything else... |

Yep, with enough fuel, 10psi on 99RST shall last even with a T3/T04 - pulling the block can get expensive with labour.
