Will it work?

I am running Pirreli PZero Corsas 235/45/17's on 17-7.5 rims, 48mm offest. But alas they have heat cycled too much. The problem is I can only replace the front's. Yes money is an issue here. I wanted to go with the same size but I wonder if I can fit 255/40/17's in the front. The 235 are 25.4 inches tall and the 255 are 25.2 inches tall. Is this close enough? The width section is 255=10.3 to 235=9.0. Will I run into any problems? This is for an auto-X setup. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. There are only four events to go 3 one days and one 2 day.

You only run these for auto-x? Well since the 235s are slighty taller, but have been partially worn down, you should be good to go as long as you don't use them for more then just autoxing.

Besides being driven to the event, they are only used for auto-x crossing. Would there be a problem if I drove them on the highway to the event?
