Subaru has an uber secret test facility for their cars.

I'd like to see pictures of it and what not.

The test track: "....has far higher bankings than Indianapolis, making it easier to test normal road vehicles at very high speeds. Driving the track in a Subaru Impreza WRX STi, I found it easy to get up to 180 km/h on the straights and then power into the steep bankings without even lifting off."

I think loyal Subie owners should be rewarded by getting some track time!

The guy's totally frantic cause he "pushed" and STi to the blistering speed of 112mph lolllllll

Here in Quebec, the government has a testing facility wich consists of a 4.5 miles super-oval!!! Now you're talking!!!! A full 2 miles longer than the Indianapolis super-oval!!!

Here are some additional pictures from the same series that flyinpig found - a festival held in Feb, 2004 at Tochigi celebrating 10 years of WRC (see http://www.tochigi-subaru.co.jp/topi...9/040219_1.htm). The white car is a Legacy 2.0 GT Spec.B.

Wasn't there a "Best Motoring" or something similar recorded there? I remember there being a huge oval and a WRC car.

Default Best Motoring

Best Motoring uses a different facility. I was just watching a video recently where they told which it was. (I was thinking the same thing when I saw these pics, until I saw that video).

Most if not all of those pics are from Bridgestone's Tochigi grounds, NOT Subaru's.

There is a pretty cool museum at the Suby proving grounds (SKC is the internal name for it). 22B, a few old rally cars (including a McRae run Legacy from way back), some nice 360s and old Rabbit scooters. Unfortunately no cameras so.....

The main handling test track itself is pretty tight, hard to use much more than 3rd gear in most cars. There is also a drool-worthy car graveyard field, and a lot of the old Nurburgring test cars are sitting around. BS's Tochigi ground's track is not nearly as tight and much faster.

It is a neat place (Subaru's PG) and the location is quite beautiful. It's about a 1 hour drive from the plant and main offices in Ohta City. The Bridgestone PG pictured is at least another hour farther NE (IIRC).
