Default Petit Le Mans: heads up thread

aka race of The Little Lemons
9-28 to 10-1

As usual me and my local band of morons will be attending. Back in May I secured what could be one of the best RV spots on the course (I have no idea how as these spots are generally held by regulars and they never release them). This year we are outside 10a with a clear view of 9 to Suzuki bridge... theres nothing like waking up to the smell of brake pad in teh morning. Plus i am certain that we have a clear view of 2 of the 3 big screens on the sides of 10a and b. The boys and I decided to step it up this year and get the biggest C-class RV available.

As you know, WCTC won't be there so no IM Racing and no one will understand why we are rolling around with a subie flag.

In any event I hope more of yous guys and gals can make it out this year; all are certainly welcome to stop by the RV site for a brew or a dip in the kiddie pool. We will be there from Wed on.

FYI, this is the Porsche/Penske LMP2 cars maiden race. I am sure Mazda will get spanked but the Lola/AER/Porsche battle should be a good show. Hopefully the Audis won't hurt our local Panoz's boys too bad.

Any one been following GTS? Hopefully the field has just as much variety as last year.

Where did you get the RV from? It isn't by chance a 34ft Chateau from rv connection?

RV: There are a few of the major RV rentals spots up 85 and 316. We are looking to get a 32 or 35 ft class C with etending walls , at that level they all come with outdoor stereo which will be nice.

Schedule: Road A or American le Mans page should have one; if not now then shortly. Typically they practice Wed and Thursday. Night practice is always fun to catch, usually it is wed or thursday night. Thursday / Friday they have racing and qualifying. I am sure star mazda, formula ford, and some spec races will be going on Friday.

Kenda, trade ya beer for a pit pass....

Isn't Maggy Valley just an hour north of Braselton? If the autoX is over at 4 then you could still watch from 6 or 7 to 10.

Only takes 2 hrs from Maggie Valley to Road Atlanta. Maybe 2:15 if traffic is bad.

That is correct. Penske said they weren't ready yet.

I think P2 will still be exciting, I believe that they will have 5 teams rather than last years 3. All of them should be pushing hard too as that class is growing.

I think the main event will be Aston vs Chevy. The Aston's were all over the vette's as Mosport, I think they have a taste of blood.

You planning to attend?
