Default I hate SOA

Well at 32,000 miles my 2nd gear broke.. no mods.. nothing. And well, they say its abuse and wont cover it under warranty.. I think that this is bull**** pardon my french. I bought this car and paid it off the day I bought it. Now SOA is saying they wont cover my warranty and i still have 28 k left on the powertrain?

rediculous...

Why did the claim abuse, what was their reasoning/proof? That had to tell you more than it was just abuse?

Default nope

they just claimed abuse, said i was "racing" the car. I told them I had never raced the car, which I havent, just some weekends on the backroads.. other than that.. road trips, and city driving. Its ridiculous I cant believe I bought this car, it has been nothing but trouble to me.. I will never rec. a Subaru to anyone..

Wow that is crazy, how can they say you raced a car and deny your warranty without any proof?

Get a lawyer if that is really the case. That have to state a reason why they know/think you were racing and be able to prove that.

Eh, sounds to me like your service department hasn't done you any justice if what you're saying is the truth. They are the ones who collect the information and submit it to Subaru for warranty claim. It may not even be SOA's fault at all, they just act off of what is relayed to them....

Good point! My advice is to dig deeper, ask questions. Ask the why's? Did they hook a computer up and check your ecu? People have told stories that it records the number of times you over rev, like that is proof of racing? Just because you misshift and tach until red, doesn't mean you "raced". Racing and spirited driving are different. Go ask a bunch of question.

You might want to clean up your post history a bit before saying that. Granted, there's no smoking gun, but you've done some mods and are at least shopping for others, so you might want to reconsider the "babe in the woods" strategy.

Jeremy, If you can't come clean about certain facts, how can you expect anyone to believe that you never abused the car as the dealer claims?

LOL at no mods. Come on man. Did you know you have a post history?

Based on some of your mods I honestly find it very difficult to believe you never abused your car.

Take it to a different dealer and get another opinion.

Joker would get owned in a court of law. Search for a guy named Orlando on this forum or www.i-club.com

He did the same thing you're trying to pull and the prosecutors showed up in court with blown up images of posts he made about his mods.

No soup for you.

My friend and I met up with one of his buddies with a gti turbo. Nice looking car.. He told me he had new axles, a K&N air filter, and a chip running 14.5 pounds of boost. So, we go from a roll on the freeway from 40 in second, i **** up and he gets me by like half a car. Then I get it right and I win... We go from a stop, I launch and like 4500 or 5k ( accident ) and I get him again. A friend of mine with a WRX told me when I learn how to launch my car better I could beat him a lot more.. But, let alone.. its a nice fast little car he has.. props to him
I dont like to drag though... beware of the tranny rarrr! lol
I wont my first race in the scoob!! woohoo!

So basically you guys are saying that if you try to drive you WRX fast it's gonna break. That still makes me say that the stock tranny is junk. I had the same sorta problems, but I don't care anymore becuase I have a dogbox. It's really too bad that they are so weak outta the box though.

It would be sooo much cheaper to just buy an STI over the WRX as the 5-speed it just a timebomb.

I disagree with you. I had a 2003 WRX that got a cobb reflash at 15,000 miles. I took it to the local drag strip multiple times on that reflash, and a few times when I was running 250whp and 220wtq. I certainly didn't drive the car soft. I never had a single transmission problem for 43,000 miles.

I recently traded it in for an '05 wagon and I expect zero problems with this transmission. Just don't drive like a dumb ass and you should be fine.

.....how do you figure?

After Armand made some comments about Jeremy's former posts on NASIOC, I dug a bit further. It's obvious that he left out relevant information regarding past abuse/incidents. The point is that there was more to his story than what he is willing to reveal (and maybe the dealer/SOA came to the right conclusion). .....we still don't even know the extent of abuse his transmission has suffered since we can only go by what he tells us.

Some of us get a little tired of the "I'm totally innocent/tranny just broke" threads started by some members. If some folks would just open their eyes a little they might realize that there could be more to a story than what someone claims. There are too many people ready to jump on the "glass tranny" or "SOA sucks" bandwagon solely based on what they read in these (and other) forums.

I have no doubt there are people with valid claims and I feel SOA should step up to the plate in those cases. However, I believe situations like this one only hinder the chances of those with legitimate grievances.

How would a dealer be able to connect his posts here to his car anyway?
