Default Cars after the Legacy

Hey guys I'll be in the car market again soon. I have been thinking about my choices about my next car. Each one is different and has a different purpose. I guess I can justify not having a wagon anymore cause I have the wifes car too.

My list:

'05/'06 Legacy GT wagon
'05 Mazda RX-8
'06 STI

Just wanted to know what everyone else has on their list for next cars to consider.

05 Corvette?

Um, depends where you are and what you're going to do. If you live in a place that has an actual winter, get the GT Wagon, otherwise, get the RX8 and a supercharger kit for it.

Since you like the Mazda's, ever consider the 93'-95' RX7's? These cars are sooo hot...

Or you could always "grow-up" and get an S4...hmmmm:

Yes, very nice choice. However I like some practicality. The RX-8 has room for four and a useable trunk. Plus it's more reliable than a used Rx-7. I'd have to get a turbo for it or something. But I dont really care about going really fast. Just having a fun drive.

I'd get a Rx-7 for a project car in a heart beat if I had the Cash.

As for a BMW or Audi. Thats what the Legacy is for. To slay them all! But they just arent my style. In some ways I think a BMW can be more soccer mom'ish than my wagon

All the other suggestions are great guys. Your car list are very intresting and fun to check out. Keep'em coming!

my list (since you asked)

late model M3
GC8
wrangler
3rd gen camaro
a4
early 90s s10 (so much potential!)
'72 nova (more potential than the s10)
'05 legacy would be obvious but i can't afford it

i'm single with no kids so anything is practical for me!

EDIT: b/c "i'm slow and make mistakes" - STi dressed in black!

I want an e30 M3, I found a local with a custom turbo. But in all reality I will keep my car until I finish my masters or they introduce cars with a new cheaper fuel source.

I'm not liking the new subaru's comin out (they're all ugly...the new Legacys are simply OK in my book), so when I go to buy a new car, I'm not sure what I'll get. I like the Infinity G35, the Nissan 350z, and the Mazda 6 (I think that's what it is). Other than that, nothing really appeals to me, and what's the point of spending 30k on something you don't completely like??

i second that!!! the new legacy is nice, but i am not LOVING it like i did when i first saw the last two generations. I sooooo had to have one and got my wish in 2001, but the only reason i would like a 2005 is for the bigger engine... you should only buy a car you LOVE!!!!!

My next car will probably be either a used BMW M5 (3 or 4 years old, probably) or a new Cadillac CTS-V. In other words, some sort of rocketship sedan.

Don't get the FD, unless you are ready to fall head over heels in love with the car. I owned for 3 years and I still lust for one. I had to sell mine when I was laid off and went on unemployment.

If I didn't have a little one, I would be driving another one right now.

RX-8 is very nice. I'd hold out to see if they make an offical Mazdaspeed version, rumours of a Supercharged one is coming.

The Mazdaspeed 6 is also a nice option if you like Mazda's.

yeah, i've liked the mr2's as well. and the supra is a nice car, but there are only so many to go around. and of those available, many have or will be ruined by boy racers who have too much money for their own good... thanks a lot "the fast and the furious" for making people think it's actually ok to pimp a car to look cheap and ghetto. a pep boys muffler and stick-on racing stripes do NOT make a car faster!!!

Sorry, I just lost it for a minute. I've been seeing a few once-great supras on the road lately that have been butchered by some dumb kid with a pep boys credit card... For crying out loud, it's a supra not a civic!!!!!!!!
