Default Help with TBE decisions...

I'd like to get a full TBE and go Cobb Stage 2.

At this point, I have neither the AccessPort, nor the TBE. The package at Cobb's site is $1715 for both plus S+H. (separately, the AP is $595 and the TBE is $1175). Is the Cobb TBE worth it? Is there a cheaper alternative without sacrificing quality?

Thanks!

you should buy them both used. i know ap's go for 450-500$ used for the 04's now. TBE's really range. but you could buy parts individually and match them up.

There are many alternatives that are cheaper and have high quality. Try looking through exhaust review and decide what size diameter piping you want, type of downpipe, and sound.

Exhaust FAQ

All exhausts are the same, buy based on sound level at that's the #1 reason for exhausts being sold.

So I'm guessing that the AP stage 2 map will still work with another 3" TBE?

if you read unibomber's link, you'll find that there isn't much difference in them as far as airflow/hp goes.

Cobb also says that if you have just a downpipe you're better off with stage2 map than stage1, so any turboback should be fine for stage 2.

Pick some exhaust systems that you think sound promising and search the "for sale" forums and also check on ebay. I picked up my entire turboback exhaust on ebay for around $800 (invidia 3"), and got a UTEC off of another board member for $650 I belive. Cheaper and better then the cobb setup... But then again... You could pick up AP used and a used Cobb or any other exhaust on the boards for probably even less then that.
