Chi-town stereo installation newbie question.

Hey everyone,
I'm relatively new here on the board, and I picked up my WRX earlier this week. In my opinion the stock stereo doesn't sound very good, and I would like to gut the system from my prelude and transplant parts of it into my WRX, since I will be selling my prelude off. The transplant will involve some amps and speakers only, not the head unit. I could probably do it all myself, but I would hate to screw something up in my brand new car. Does the MWSOC ever have stereo install gatherings where all the Chicagoland folks meet up and swap tips and tricks about stereo installs?

That's actually a pretty good idea. Maybe we should get something together for a Saturday when the weather should be good. I know I have to yank everything out of my OBS and I have to do an install into my brother's car. Donnie is an installer so with some pointers from him, as well as numerous little tools we can all collate and bring together, we can probably knock out a few cars in no time.
