Default STi springs / V5 struts?

Hey all. I have decided it is the time to upgrade the suspension on my '02 WRX Wagon. I have 17" S-O2's ready to go on and I am trying to decide on springs/struts/sway bar. I have searched the boards extensively and I think the setup I want is the STi springs and the V5 struts. I gather that it drops the car between 3/4" and 1", which is generally believed to be the ideal height. Is there anything anyone can say against this setup? Can anyone tell me where to get these springs and struts? It looks like Sugar (Lisa) has the struts, but I can't find the springs anywhere.

Thanks,

Mike Dushane

Default Isr?

Seems like I remember seeing the springs on Isr - dont remember how much they were though. I have heard VERY good things about this spring/shock combo, and I believe it is the same suspension which you get on the J-spec STi if you buy one off the assembly line.

iSR Performance . Nice place, very cool people, and doing all kinds of stuff for Subarus. Pam is often in the Vendor Classified Forums. Look for WRXGirl. They do excellent work. I got my exhaust and cold air intake installed there.

I debated this long & hard between myself, and have finally decided on the P1 suspension setup from Mike Shield @ SPD. It's a Ver. 6 strut with Eibach springs...

Just my 2 cents worth...

What would be a good strut match for these STi springs when used on the WRX sedan? I REALLY want to know.
Thanks everybody...

Hi Mike Dushane:

I just placed my order yesterday from Mike Shields @ SPD. It's probalby a little easier if you contact him by phone, plus he's a great guy to talk to -- very knowledgeable. You'll definitely get more info out of him if you speak to him live, rather than from an e-mail.

He's basically getting something like 50 e-mails a day that he tries to respond to, so there'll be a delay in getting a response by e-mail.

Default Jaxx has a good point

I'm no expert but I do wonder about the compatiblity of GC8 struts/springs with the new WRX. Mainly its the weight difference. I think all the mounting points are the same but I'm wondering if that extra couple of hundred pounds in the new car would affect the performance of shocks designed for a lighter car.
