Default Version 6 STi RA and RA SE gears back in stock!!! Transmissions too!!!

Hey all,

Version 6 STi RA and RA SE gear sets are finally back in stock. As we all know, the transmission is really the weak point of the WRX. These gears are much stronger than your stock gears and also have shorter ratios which will lead to better acceleration at the expense of top end speed.

As taken from our website:

Do you need to hold more power put cannot afford the STI 6-speed transmission? Don't want the inconveniences of a dog-box or the price? Looking for a more track friendly gear ratio? Then our STI RA gear-set is the perfect solution for you!

The STI RA V6 gears are a found in the rally-bred Version 6 Impreza STI RA and is designed to be a much beefier swap for your WRX 5-speed transmission. The thicker gear teeth as well as the inherently stronger gears and shaft are a perfect solution for customers looking for gear-sets that will hold more power. For further strengthening all gear-sets are CRYOGENICALLY TREATED.

We recommend these gear-sets for customers looking for gear-sets to hold 275-350awhp. For higher power levels we would recommend either a STI 6-speed tranny or a synchroless dog-box.

All gearset kits include STI RA Gears 1-5, main shaft, properly matched speed-o gear, and shifter fork. Please see our bearing and synchro sections for a complete rebuild kit. Rebuild time is generally 5-6 hours of bench time (not including removal & installation) and if your transmission is damaged will usually require new bearings and synchros.

*Also, we have we now have the RA SE gears. Do you want to have better acceleration and save gas? Looking for the best of both worlds? The STI RA (Special Edition) V6 gears are a great upgrade for guys that want to keep the stock 5th gear, but still have a shorter ratio down low. 4th and 5th gear ratios are retained, which allows for a smoother transition to 5th (instead of the grinding when you just leave the stock WRX 5th gear in). But 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear are the same as the normal RA gears.

Version 6 STi RA gears - $1349 shipped
Version 6 STi RA SE gears - $1349 shipped
Subaru Genuine Bearing Set- $255 shipped

Thanks,

Preston

oneoverWRX - These trannies are not any stronger than the USDM trannies... they aren't rated for any specific horsepower rating but it would basically be the same as a stock WRX tranny.

hyp36rmax - The Legacy tranny in this post is from a non-turbo legacy which uses a push (instead of pull) type clutchs sytem so it won't bolt on without serious modifications.

Thanks,

Max

Actually, the Leg tranny WILL bolt up perfectly, but you would have to use the weaker push-type clutch and flywheel.... It would be a serious step backwards. I am still running a stock 2003 TS tranny with an upgraded clutch on my STi ver 7 motor... and hating it.

Those are the Subaru genuine synchros that are needed for the 5sp WRX transmission.

Right, I meant which gears are those synchros for? I'm not too familiar with the inner workings and your site says that those are the ones that most commonly fail so I just want to make sure I don't need any other synchro's also...

I'll be ordering this ASAP but I need to know if I need any other synchros other than the ones that are in your kit. Can you tell me which gears the synchros in the kit is for?

Hey Chris,

We're actually already out of RA SE gearsets. We are expecting more in in about 3 weeks but the best way to guarentee yourself a set of these is to preorder them (because they are so popular).

Thanks,

Geoff
