Default For those interested in S401 wheels...

Don't bother . I finally found a vendor that sells them (RaceComp Engineering) and they're around a grand.....per wheel.

that's redonkulous.

Stick with Rotas.

IMHO, the spec B wheels are cooler.

that's a lot better than the wheel importer in Salem quoted me, i went to him to get a qoute and he made a few calls and got back to me with a basketball court figure of $5600, yah for race camp engineer. I wish i had $4000 to spend on a set of rims

What’s the big deal with these that they costs so much? After all, aesthetics alone CANNOT be worth so much. Right?

Forged + 18" + BBS + custom correct Subaru offset that fit over Brembo fronts = 1k/wheel

The Rims are from the most prestige and rare of Legacy's not to mention that its probably one of if not the fastest and best handle that was ever produced from the factory. The Rims are really nice on it not to mention that they are badass looking they are a set of BBS's that are available only on the S401.

The price doens't come from the wheels themselves rather the availability of the wheels.

Can’t comment about the price, but can about the vendor. Racecomp (Myles and Jeff) are great people and I’ve ordered several times from them. They’re actually a local vendor to my area and always come in lower then some of the other larger suby vendors.

They’ll continue to have my business…

If I had an S401 I'd be set. Wouldn't do anything to it except add a system (I love bass).

I love these wheels, but I will take the extra 1" that the mesh's give me if that's the look I want to go for.

Hell, the 3300 I save on wheels is allot of tires Even at 18"

The B4 is basically a Turbo'd sedan. The S401 is the 22b of Legacy's. Very rare, very powerful, etc.

More info on the S401 here: www.subaru-sti.co.jp/s401/

This used to be the case but it seems the B4 moniker has morphed into meaning the Legacy sedan of all models including NA.

Not for the Legacys. IIRC there were some OBs oem with +48mm rims, but AFAIK basically all the recent Legacys have shipped with +53-55mm offset wheels.

It is widely accepted offsets moderately off that number including +48mm will work as long as there's no rub. The hub should have an unchanging inherent ideal offset however. Offset centers the wheel stress over the hub and without changes to the hub, the ideal offset doesn't change.
