Default 06 Impreza? Check. Wet Track? Check. Solberg? Check. Video? Check

If you want to see 10 minutes of an 2006 Rally Prepped Impreza powersliding through a wet autoX course driven by Petter Solberg himself...

Right-click & Save!

Taken from a Japanese Automotive Website hense the engrish in the beginning.

Hint: watch till the end. there's some typical solberg showboating!

If someone could also mirror it, that'd be great incase the I run out of quota.

Enjoy!

Wow, some people steer with their knees, Petter steers with his feet!

He sure does like to drive hanging out of the car, doesn't he?

I wonder if anyone in the crowd had brown spots after his final turn before backing into the tent area.

My lord, he must be taking cues from the D1 drivers.

Seriously though his driving style makes me feel better about mine.

Mostly onehanded untill he remembers that he SHOULD be using both. Looks like my crappy style at an autocross.

How he does it we'll never know.

Just being a stickler now but with the 360 I think is more of a Ghymkhana than an Autocross.

Isn't Ghymkhana simply the japanese equivalent to "autocross"?

No its a bit more involved, similar, but different.

Equivilant to the British Autokhana. Usually involves such manuevers as backing up, 360's, and things of that nature.

If you''ve played GT4 its basically like the coffee breaks in the licsense trials.

Whereas our Autocross is simply a road course that is smaller in scale and changes every race.

Both are time based competions.

There was a post a while back that showed a Caterham 7 competing in an Autokhana it the UK. If I can find it I'll link it.

Really though I was just being a smartbutt. They're VERY VERY similar.

Would have sucked if Petter broke the side window while leaning on it ... cool vid though. I like the in car angles the best.

Ya know, the last time I tried to do that, I broke stuff. And that was one of my favorite Hotwheels!

Well, I now know why Subaru pays him...he's a very skilled driver, and he is great for the cameras (a showoff). He is a living advertisment. Not a bash, just an observation.

cool vid, thanks.

Its funny how he use his leg to control the steering wheel. That video makes it as though driving the STi is so easy but in reality, its not!

Also moving the car without pressing the gas. I did it before but only when the engine is cold. WHen it warm, can't seems to do as the car just beg for gas.

Awesome video!

Can someone explain to me how he was able to keep the car moving while not giving it any gas or touching the clutch?
