Default I want to get this question out of the way.

Rather than constantly asking if this or that fits a 97L 2.2l wagon, where is a good place to learn what the differences are between the different subies? For example, I'm looking at this sway bar HERE, it says fits 93-05 Impreza, but are wagons different, RS vs L? I don't want to constantly bother NASIOC with "does this fit" so any links where I can read up on what would fit and what wouldn't would be very helpful.

Go over to global performance parts and grab the whiteline catalog. In it is a breakdown of what fits what years by chassis code. If the part number is the same between the sedans and wagons then the part will fit both. If the part numbers are different then you know the wagon bar is different than the sedan bar.

rear sway bars = all the same. all impreza. all model years.

only exception is the STi. it's rear bar is 2" wider

front sway bars:
vary by drivetrain and model.
very specific to the car you are driving.

hope this helps

Actually Jamie- you bring a point to my thoughts... If one were to upgrade the rear lat. links to STI version adjustable/non adj. Would one then have to go with an STI rear sway? Assuming that one would be moving the sway bar end links to the outer location as the STI kit locates them....

I'm bumping this for a reason. Someone offered to sell me the swaybars off of a 04 STI. SubieGal was saying the rear ones are all the same EXCEPT for the STI, which are 2" wider. I just want to double check that these won't fit my car. I have 97 Impreza L wagon.

The first time I saw it, my reaction was "meh," but now I love it.

Since my body style is a GC8, shouldn't anything fit from this catalogue? Click Me
I'm looking at the sway bars mostly.

That what my reaction was to, but after the hub caps were gone and the hood and spoiler was swapped for rs ones I was in love, its a unique color and looks great with gold wheels.
