Default Just bought a new house!

I'm stoked! It's my first house (not bad for a 22 year old college student ) and I close on it early next month.

It is in a little community at Deer Valley rd and Cave Creek Rd. Anyone know where that is or live near it?

The best thing is that the builders specified a 4 ft. garage length extension so I have room to do my EJ22T engine swap (Which is in the mail)
I'll post the specs if anyone cares

Eric

I am by no means a master mechanic, but I don't mind at all coming by to help wrench on some things. Just give me the easy jobs

When do you move in?

Only a couple of blocks north of the "Candy Store"

Welcome to the North Side...

If you need help moving your car, you could ask Aaron or Danny. They have experience with towing dead RS-Ts

I never heard of the Candy Store untill I almost rented an apartment accross the street from it. The parking lot was full even at 11:00 in the morning!

Eric

EDIT: I mean, I might need some help with the motor, not I might need the Candy Store

My mom lives about a 1/2 mile north of the Candy Store. I used to live at CaveCreek & Greenway. Looks like the northside is a hotbed for Subies.

Congrats Eric. But you really are on the wrong side of town. Everyone knows the SouthEast valley is where it's at!!

Hey, while we are talking about houses for sale, does anyone want to buy mine?
I have it on the market right now, and have an offer for it. Unfortunately it isn't quite what I want to get, so it is still up for grabs.

Kastle, maybe you could buy it from me. Then we would be even, seeing as how I have bought so much of your stuff!

Congrats on your most excellent purchase Eric!

Wanna hear something funny? Too bad, 'cause I am going to tell you anyways!!!

Back in High School, the area you live in now was where all the desert romping and desert (pre-rave) parties happened. We use to take our 22s into the area and blast holes in old derelict cars, and go romping through the ravines in that area.

Of course, now they built your living room on it, we can't do that no more, but thats just a little piece of North Side history.

Here's something really old. As you drive up Cave Creek Rd. north of Utopia, the hill will appear on your left (with houses on it). If you look to your right there's a vacant lot. If you stop to actually look you'll see cement pads on the lot. This lot was used to shoot Westerns in the late 50's and early 60's. The cement pads are there to let the cameras roll around on wheels. It was last used to shoot Death Valley Days hosted by Ronald Reagan (when he was an actor, not the President). Lots of other cowboy stars also shot films there. Of course if you find all that boring go down to the Candy Store and hoist one in memory of your fellow Subie owners who are to 'old'!

Danny--> Who says you still can't go shooting up derilict cars there? I'm sure Eric has a derelict Impreza hanging around.

Kastle---> The commute would suck. I used to live off of Guadalupe and Gilbert, and had to commute all the way up to the Best Western Reservation center up there by Amex. Believe me, it got real old, real fast.

Congrat's on the house dude! Buying your first house is an exciting time. You have to spend the first night on the floor in a house with no curtains and call out for pizza from the nearest Circle-K. It's a tradition.

I thought for a minute there that Danny was showing his age telling stories of things that "didn't used to be there," but Stuart took the prize. Hey Stuart, were you an extra in any of those movies?

With all your Scooby friends living up North, you should have plenty of help moving. {watches as everyone scurry away and hides } Call me if you need any help with The Candy Store.
