Factory remote start question

Hi all. First time poster and 1yr lurker here.

I just recieved a oem remote start kit and plan to install it for a Christmas present for the wife. I do have the instructions in pdf
which I downloaded off the web. I like the plug and play unit to keep myself out of trouble. I realize that it will have to be programed with a
Subaru dedicated unit and have a tech that will do that for me for $40 on
his lunch break.
MY question is has anyone here installed one on a 2012 Impreza? And,
is there anything to be extra careful of? Or are there any tips?
