Default Baja Hood help

Well every now and then I will see somebody bring up the whole Baja hood on a Legacy topic, but never really go in depth....

I have a 2002 Legacy and I want to know which year of the Baja's hood (with the scoop of course) would fit on my car.

Any Baja Turbo hood will do. Or wait for the results of someone buying a carbon fiber hood from andsautosupply which may be the same price.

Keep in mind the baja hoods are heavy....they are not aluminum so you really lose no weight...a big draw back for me as I like to lose weight when adding parts, if possible. I don't know when the Baja Turbo came out cause we don't get it in Canada. Maybe '04, or '03 even?? I think '04 though.

You might try the baja forum. I know that some people over there are talking about going to a CF hood, but I am not sure if anyone has ponied up the dough to do so. But if someone has, you might be in like flin.

There is another thread here with the part numbers. You could order them from a dealer in Buffalo.

Are u saying i can go to a local dealer and order the hood and scoop?? Will they actually import something like that from the US? Wouldnt they charge me an arm and a leg with a side of liver and kidney? When i checked out a price for a spoiler from subaru they quoted me 700.00 CAN....i later bought an aftermarket for 300...but, still.

If that wont work, then ordering from Buffalo might be a good idea.
Now, is this hood a PERFECT FIT on my car? From what ive read it is, but i want to be certain. Not to sound dumb (although i am) but are there any differences with the US and CAN Legacy?

Sorry, didn't realize you were in CA... You can give it a shot and see what they tell you

From what I have been told it is. The Legacy and the Baja share the same chasis.

Good luck, let me know how you make out

you should be able to get the hood, i originally got my hood as did others, from someone at a dealer in canada when the Baja wasnt out yet. Any dealer should be able to order it.

I'll be going CF at some point but likely not till spring.

Do you have a baja hood? My legacy is stored for the winter (i know its a SUBARU with AWD, but its a long story) so if you would sell me your baja hood when you go CF thatd be awesome.........if at all possible. Where in canada are you located?

I'd be interested in knowing when you make the switch as well, my car is blue but I'd have to get a new hood painted anyways

twostep, the baja hood will fit on the BE/BH's.

and the bit about all baja hoods not being aluminum is false. they were not able to tool up a shop here in time for the baja run and were forced to ship some bits over from japan like the hood. i originally thought that i was going to get a steel hood but came out to aluminum.

Thanks for the assurance. Ill check out JDM place here in toronto and see if they will be able to get a hood for me. I know its gonna be expensive as heck, but it looks soooo sweet. And with a new grill and eyelids with clear corners, its even sexier.

MN could be interpreted as Manitoba, Canada. =)
