Default New service bulletin for 02-03 WRX ABS ECU

Saw this on news and rumors. Finally, a fix for ABS so it won't kick in all the time at random times while braking on california's crappy roads.

Question

This may be a stoopid question but this is an ABS ECU that has nothing to do with the engine ECU right? I just don't want a full reflash that resets my Ekutek dyno tune. TIA

The ABS ECU is integrated with the hydraulic unit assembly. It is located in the front passenger area of the engine bay in front of and below the intake. According to the service bulletin the install time is 40 minutes. I did a search on subaruparts.com for the replacement part on the service bulletin, 27529FE050, which is listed as $197.90. It is not the same as the one under your passenger side floor.

Maybe we should have an ABS ECU replacement meet? Pick a dealer and everybody show up with their letters. Maybe even break out the BBQ grill while we wait...

What if that problem caused my accident?? Is there anything I can ask for from SOA, or they are just going to say better luck next time?? I haven't even check my VIN number but i do know my ABS does that sometimes on crappy surfaces.
Thanks

so the question is, how will they react when i roll up with my stoptechs? what are the odds of still getting the ECU? Or should i throw on my stockers for this?

1. Locate the fuse marked 'ABS'
2. Remove fuse
3. Discard fuse
4. ???
5. Profit!
