Default 16x7 SSR Comp on WRX Sedan...

i'm interested in running this setup in conjunction with a 225/50/16 tire.

my question to NASIOC is this...

tirerack.com has them in a +50mm offset. running that size wheel with the above mentioned size tire, will the tire/wheel combo stick out of the sides of the car?

will i need to roll the fenders?

i'm at prodrive spring drop height right now and putting on koni+GC setup within the next couple of weeks so i'll probably lower it just a tad more.

the higher the offset, the further into the fenders the wheel goes. you'll be fine with 50, they won't stick out from the fenders at all. many people run 7" wide wheels with a 48 offset, but 50 is closer to the ideal offset of 53-55. you won't have to roll the fenders.

Yeah, what he said. You won't even be close to needing to roll the fenders.

ah, my confusion, i thought a lower offset put them further into the fenders. thanks for straightening that up for me.

16X7.5 would be better if they are available.

hmm...

i polled one of my local forums to see what the members liked better, gram light 57c's or the SSR comps, both in 16. i'm still pretty sold on the comps, it is my car after all, but one member said he'd heard some reports of them not being too sturdy. i decided to yahoo! for reviews on the wheels and this one link perked my interest:

http://www.villacorte.com/miata/ssr-comp-problems/

has anybody heard of the comps being easy to bend? i mean, they shouldn't be easy, forged and all. strength in a wheel is pretty much required here. louisiana roads are notorious for taking the life of many a wheel and lip and i don't feel like replacing a wheel every month or so.

My SSR Comps have 60k NOT easy miles on 'em.....straight and true.

What usually happens is idiots put rubberbands on them and they bend and/or they don't keep their tires hard enough.....stay over 35psi and you won't have any issues unless you regularly cross the grand canyon.
