Default 18X8.5 pro racers on wrx possible?

i was wondering if anybody was running these in an 8.5 and if they are what width tire? I was going to try and go for something like 245/45/18 am I being too greedy?

18x8.5 ET48 5x100 5Zigen Pro Racers - right? says on their spec page that they are designed for the WRX:

you definitely don't want 245/45x18 - too tall. 225/40x18, 245/40x18 or 245/35x18 would make more sense.

with a sedan, you could probably run 225/40x18 on them without rolling the fenders, wagon you'd have to roll the fenders. for the other two sizes you'll defninitely have to roll the fenders sedan or wagon

35-series rubber is rarely run on the WRX - some run 265/35x18 on the STI - just be aware that you lose .5" of sidewall going from 245/40x18 to 245/35x18. that difference is made up by the aluminum wheel - so less tire squirm, better dry cornering, ride deteriorates and not much rubber to protect those wheels if you hit a pothole.
