Default Anyone in Ottawa want gold wheel paint

I am looking to buy some Duplicolor gold wheel paint to dress up
the stock 6 spokers on my MY00 RS. The hitch is nobody carries
it as a stock item in Ottawa. Metro Auto Supplies will order but
only as a case (6 cans) for 9.95 a can.

I'm thinking that I'll need 3 full cans to do the four wheels inside and out.

Anybody local want to split the case?

I am interested, but concerned about a couple of things.

1. Colour - is it super shiny gold or a darker hue?
2. Durability
3. Ease of Application

1) The paint sample I saw at Metro Auto on Laperriere looks to be darker, not bright and shiny. It looks like the same colour as
any of the aftermarket rims (Prodrive, Technomagnesio etc.)

2) Good question. I can onlu assume that if it is applied properly
that it should be fairly durable. I posted in the dressup forum on
the same question and it came back favourable. Check it out.

3) They are 11oz spray bombs or either laquer or enamel. It should be straightforward to apply.

If you get a chance, check out the posting for durability and drop
by Metro Auto on Laperriere Ave for the paint sample. It's 6x$10
plus tax (total ~$70) so split down the middle at $35.

Let me know.......SubaruStu

Did you ever get this paint?

I have been trying to get the Graphite locally with no luck.

I got it from a local automotive paint/body shop supplies place. I
had to order a case (6 cans) and it cost me about $60 total. I
used 3 full cans and a bit of a fourth.

I have seen the silver and white at Wal-Mart. I don't know if they
will order others for you, and it is also carried at etouchup.com.

Try emailing Duplicolor. They sent me the 1-800 number for the
Canadian Customer service, who then gave me a list of people
who order from them. I can't the number anywhere though.

If you can't find it in Winnipeg, I can get here for you and send it
out (can you ship aerosol cans?).

Good Luck ... Stu
