Default Lime Rock Crash rollover

A friend just shared with me a track video.

The course was Lime Rock. The date was August 26th 2000.

By the look of the interior dash and the Wheel, I'm almost positive this was a Legacy GT that rolled over.

I did a search but couldn't find anything.

Since the Legacy crowd is so small, I wonder if it might have been anyone in this group.

Anyone have a location I could drop a 6MB video clip?

I'm curious if the owner rebuilt the car.

Yeah, thats gotta be Patrick Olsen in the "great Legacy flip of 2000". I think the man has had his face rubbed in "the video that refuses to die" a few times too many. Often times on the internet Pat is falsely identifed as a "Driving school instructer" and (I guess because he was really catching the Porsche 911) his car is identified as a Porsche (lol).

Nope, the car was not rebuilt (at least not that I know of). I think the car was eventually sold to F & S Auto for parts.

While the car was basicaly still "driveable" following this gentle roll over, so many body panels were damaged (roof, hood, doors, and the trunk) that it was cheaper to total the car. With the exception of the roof damage, and the rear trunk (that popped open and got stuffed into his rear window) the damage (from a distance atleast) appeared to be largely minor cosmetic scuffs & scratches.

Pat was very lucky in that State Farm (I think it was them ?) let him swap out his mods, and the new interior peices from his Green '99 Legacy GT (that was totaled) into his current Silver '97 Legacy GT.

Some where I think I can find the link to Pat's initial posting of this incident.

EDIT: Here it is, the Great Legacy Flip of 2000:

No need for anyone to else to "host" this. The video is literally all over the internet. Here is a link to a site that still has it on line:

http://www.big-boys.com/articles/firstpersoncrash.html

The last time this roll over was brought back from the dead on this board (nearly 6-7 months ago) a whole host of NASIOC members got on to the above link and tried to correct some of the false statements made.

Poor poor scooby.

I've watched this clip several times trying to analyze it. It looks like he starts sliding just a hair before the apex of the turn? It looks so mild, but then the car just loses it. Maybe just coming into the corner too hot?

I admit when I chase my friends playing Forza or Gran Turismo I tend to do the same thing.

Scary, I think I'll reconsider taking my daily driver to the track.

You got to know the whole thing was a bit of a relief to the Porsche driver. He was about to get served a big ole plate of humiliation. And the way I look at it is if you dont wreck sooner or later, youre not pushing hard enough.
