Default HKS Kansai Rear Diffuser Group Buy!!!!

By popular demand, we are now officially starting the GB for the HKS Kansai rear diffuser. This piece is designed to fit the 2002-2005 WRX and STi sedan and wagon. This is a carbon fiber diffuser, that includes all required mounting hardware. Please note there are 2 versions of this diffuser - one is designed for exhausts that exit straight back from the bumper (A'pexi World Sport, Turbo XS, Borla, GReddy and others), and another that is designed for the angled-exiting exhausts (HKS, some Fujitsubo, A'pexi N1, etc.). Please be sure to specify which one you need when ordering!!!

Installation requires some trimming of the lower most edge of the rear bumper, in order for the diffuser to sit flush against the rear of the car. While I have been informed from Kansai that installation can be done with one person themself, professional install is recommended from an experienced auto body shop in order to achieve the best results. As many of you may already know, HKS Kansai is a specialty shop in Japan that focuses on a very limited number of cars - one of which is the WRX/STi. Through their participation in many forms of motorsport, including Super Taikyu and Time Attack, this diffuser was borne to give increased stability on the track and street. Kansai makes some of the best quality, nicest carbon fiber products on the market in Japan, and we are very excited to be able to offer this unique piece for the group buy.

Our regular price on this piece is $774.00 shipped in the US. Group Buy price (minimum of 5 buyers, maximum of 10 buyers) will be $669.00 shipped in the 48 states. Alaska, Hawaii, Canada and other countries may contact us for specific shipping quotes.

The last day for ordering as part of the Group Buy is September 26, 2005, and will only be acception a maximum of 10 orders - these pieces are all hand done by Kansai in Japan, and as such, we do not want to overwhelm them with orders. Once the ordering period is concluded, we will give the final count to Kansai in Japan. Production will take 2-3 weeks depending on how many buyers there are, and from there, these will be shipped via boat container to the US. We anticipate having these arrive into the US around mid October. For those in a rush, we can arrange airfreight directly from Kansai in Japan to you, though costs will vary by location, and will be costly due to the size. But if you are very eager to get it, it is something we can arrange.

Orders can be placed via check, money order, credit card or Paypal by calling us. Paypal payments can be sent to z1sales@z1auto.com. Please note that due to the nature of this product, and the fact that Kansai makes them on and as-ordered basis, payment is required in full in order to have a confirmed order. We have done many successful group buys in our many years on Nasioc, and will post regular progress reports in this thread so people know where things are at every step.

To place your order, just give us a call at 631.863.3820.

Thanks again!

Adam

Will there be another opportunity for a GB or will this be the only one?

I'm interested, but the bottom picture looks flat. I like the glossy carbon fiber pic on the top for $669.

Is this GB only for the FRP piece or can we get the CF piece?

It is for the CF piece(3rd sentence). Hey Adam what is the price on the FRP or is there going to be a group buy on this one? Hopefully it would be substantailly cheaper than the CF piece.

the GB is for the carbon one only at this time, since that is what most people requested- we are not including the FRP one unless we have 5 people - price would be $75.00 less for the FRP one. The carbon has a glossy gel coat over it.

Now I am curious about this, but I already have the oem skirt/difffuser apron thing on my 02 wrx... Would this thing be able to work with it?? Or do I have to sacrifice one?

you might be able to do some trimming to make it work - not sure. It is designed to be used on a "naked" rear bumper

a87supra - thats allt he details they gave, so unfortunately it is all I can provide - all they ahve said is the lower most edge of the bumper has to be trimmed, in order to get the diffuser to sit flush against the bumper. By looking at how the diffuser mates to the lower portion of the bumper, it is pretty easy to see it will not be a significant amount. Unfortunately the part is brand new in Japan too, so little details exist

well, i guess this is going to be a no go now? In the feeler we originally posted we had 6 people who said they were in - all but have replied to my email/PM informing them it is on. Oh well, I guess maybe we'll try it with something else in the future

I was watching the GB interest thread, I knew it was going to be a no go with a part that people want to have, but can't afford or can't install.

Sorry to see your efforts wasted.

Thanks for letting "us" choose

yep ...
It's one of those JDM parts many want and would love to have , but we got no $$ to buy it or would rather spend the $670 on tires, etc....

Now if you could get a CF shop to make a replica for half the price, or make a custom from thin aluminum sheets.. now those would sell like hot cakes.

Example : RavSpec V-limited lip CF replica they sold more than 100? for $300 each !

Adam, thanks for doing the GB !

I would be in for a replica if it was less than 1/2 the cost. I prefer having the bumper trimmed because I like the polyurethane/CF look.

I would not do a repliaca unfortunately - it is just not what we do and I do not like the idea of totally stealing another companies idea. Not to mention I saw the Ravspec one and the fit and weave were very inconsistent from piece to piece - this is a risk with the replica stuff and one of the primary reasons we do not do it.
