Max tire size (14x6 wheel)?

I have a set of American Racing Estrellas (Alloy) - 14x6", and I'm curious as to the maximum tire size I can stuff into them. On Tire Rack the largest section width I could find using my wheel size was 215mm. Would tires of this width be safe to run on a 6" wheel? Also I'm curious as to how much the section height of the tire will affect dry performance. I'm running generic 195/70R14's right now and the tires (even when properly inflated) will 'roll' onto thier sidewall under hard cornering, which concerns me. What range should I be looking in as far as section height?

I'm new to all this, as this is the first set of tires I've ever had to buy. Any tips and/or advice would be appreciated.

For a given wheel, if you want to maintain the same overall diameter, the sidewall height will stay the same no matter what tire you put on.

Also, squeezing 215/60s onto your stock wheels will result in poorly supported sidewalls, which means you'll still have that sidewall-rolling feeling when cornering hard.

The best advice is to get a set of junkyard 15x6 Subaru alloys. They'll be very cheap. Then you can run a decent performance tire in 205/60-15 or even 205/55-15, which will absolutely transform your handling.
