Default 2002 wrx - 245-45-17

I realize the diameter is a bit too large, don't care.

I'm just wondering how bad it will rub, and if rolling the fenders is a common fix for fat tires on the wrx.

Also, will the tire rub on suspension components due to offset?

TIA.

You should be fine, but is there a 245/40/17 available in the tire you want? That would be better.

No I'm going to mount a used set of the old azenis (rt-215) for this sunday's autocross, just wondering if it will rub.

The other interesting thing will be to see how it works squeeeeezed onto my 17x7 wheels.
The minimum "approved" width is 7.5, but autoxers tend to squeeze what they can.

So this ginormous tire will fit without rubbing? wow.

Oh I forgot to mention I am somewhat lowered on coilovers...we'll see how it goes.

Thanks for your reply.

Well, it will also depend on how stiff your springs are.....but a buddy of mine runs that tire on his 04 STi on stock suspension w/o issue.

It will have an effect, but grip is king on an autocross course. Especially the lot I'm going to tomorrow, most of us won't shift out of second gear, so horsepower is not going to be the main factor. Maintaining speed and having a good line...I'll take grip over acceleration.
