17x7.5 Rota SubZero, Will 225/45/17 Fits 03 Stock WRX Wagon

I bought Rota SubZeros 17x7.5 for my 03 WRX Wagon. It's a stocker, no mods, no lowered yet. Can you confirm whether 225/45/17 will fit?

I understand some tire brands are a bit thinner than the others, any suggestions on what brands I should go with?

I've got 225/45 17's on my wagon and I have no issues. I'm not lowered, but I've heard of rubbing on some lowered wagons at that size.

A lot depends on your wheel offset. IE; Bridgestone SO3s will most likely rub because they are designed with a very square tread area whereas, the Michelin PS2s are a little more rounded.

Have you considered talking with Tire Rack for a wheel/tire combo? They could give you a good deal, all mounted & balanced, right to your door. Just a consideration.

If you are buying local, make sure you get whoever you purchase from to guarantee the tire will fit w/out any problems. That way, if they sell you the wrong tire size, they have to take it back @ no charge to you.

Better to get the right wheel/tire to fit the car than to make the car fit the wheel/tire.
