Default One Lap of America STi Race Car for sale, $30k

here is the ebay link:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=4572699838

i'm putting this on ebay soon:

2004 Subaru STi. This car has been tracked and raced in Time Trials and is extremely fast. Typically the fastest street car at any track day. Over $20,000 invested in the car + current Kelly Blue Book value of $25,000 = $45,000. I’m selling the car for $30,000 firm. If you want an STi track car, why go through the expense and time and headache of building your own. You won’t find a STi faster or better prepared than this one for less money. I’m selling the car because I have a baby on the way, need to do some house additions, and have other things I need to accomplish. The STi keeps taking all of my time and money – so it needs to go.

Here is a list of modifications:

Turbo XS UTEC engine management, Turbo XS remote map switch, Turbo XS Turbo Back 3” Exhaust w/ no cats, Turbo XS Wideband AFR Tuner, Greddy Profec Electronic Boost Control, Turbo XS Front Mount Intercooler, reverse hood scoop, Turbo XS Intake, 800 cc injectors, 255 lph fuel pump, FP Green Turbo 49lb. minute compressor and TD06 Turbine, proper gauges (boost, oil temp, egt), 17” x 8” Rota Torque wheels, Carbotech FP8/9 Brake Pads, Goodrich Stainless Steel Lines, Motul Brake Fluid, custom ordered race spec JIC Coilovers w/ camber plates (500F/575R lb. springs), Hotchkis competition sway bar kit, 255 Michelin Pilot PS2 tires, Autopower Roll Cage w/ 2.5 lb. fire extinguisher, Recaro Pole Position seats, G-Force Harnesses and a MOMO race spec steering wheel.

The car was tuned by Turbo XS. It has 4 maps installed on the car.
Map 1 – 93 octane for everyday driving
Map 2 – 100 octane
Map 3 – 112 leaded 10.9:1 afr
Map 4 – 112 leaded 11.3:1 afr

It participated in the Tire Rack One Lap of America in May 2005. This event has the fastest “registered street driven” track cars in the country (think highly modified Vipers, Corvettes, Porsches, etc.). Many of the cars in the Car and Driver supercar challenge run this event, including the Hennessey Viper that won the supercar challenge in 2004. After the first 10 events of the 2005 One Lap, I was 1st in class (mid-price sedans, 17 entries) and 5th overall (out of 93 entries) – one position behind the Hennessey Viper.

After the 10th event, I hit a tire wall. So yes, the car has had damage. I have all the paperwork showing that the car damage was mostly cosmetic. No frame damage or anything like that. Tire walls are very good at absorbing impact and prevent serious damage, but at the expense of crumpled sheet metal. I replaced an A-Arm, tie-rod, shock and some intercooler piping. The rest was body work – bumper, fender, door, hood. Everything is perfectly straight and the car looks and runs better than ever.

The car has been very well taken care of. It is my one and only hobby. Oil changes after each track event, frequent diff and gear box oil changes. The clutch and gear box still feel brand new. The One Lap is a series of 3 lap events, so the car was never pushed for long periods of time. During practice track days, I would not run the car more than 5-9 laps at a time, although the car wanted to just keep running. While I never had cooling problems, I would suggest a radiator and oil cooler if you wanted to run for long periods of time. I never experienced a mechanical problem on or off the track – the car is dead-on reliable (which was the goal from the start) and was put together correctly.

On the dyno the car showed 393 torque and 376 hp at the wheels. STi’s lose about 20% from the flywheel to the wheels, so that equates to 471 lb.ft. torque and 451 hp. Interestingly, on the dyno, the car would boost to 24 psi, then taper to 17 psi at redline. On the track the car holds boost rock solid at 24 psi with no spiking and no tapering, that equates to quite a bit more hp than what the dyno shows. We tuned for torque as that is what propels you down the track the quickest. The 93 octane map had around 350 torque with a max 19psi of boost tapering to 14 psi (on the street, it holds steady at 19 psi).

The car also comes with an extra set of Rota Wheels w/ Kuhmo victoracer tires. An extra set of Michelin PS2’s, some extra brake pads, springs for the JICs, and absolutely everything to turn the car back to stock (minus the turbo, intercooler and wheels – which can all easily be purchased used online for not much money).

The car is black, has cd and air, only 12,000 miles. Could be a daily driver or converted to an SCCA or NASA race car. The car is already set up to be a Time Trials or a Hill Climb car, as that is the direction I was headed.

Here are a couple pics, I'll have more on the ebay ad, I'll post a link later this week.

Decals were taken off the car right after the one lap.

Well you did hit a tire barrier and I am sure it absorbed alot of the impact for the record for everyone interested.

You where flying like a bat out of hell over that rise on the track maybe a little hot...lol.

Must have been scary as hell you were so close to recovering.

Well man good luck on the sale & hey if not in this crowmountainhillclimb I want to see videos of you winning not like the last one.

Goodluck,
Matt

Yeah it's crazy dude is insane & can drive like a bat out of hell.

He was flying on that track & I guess has never been on it before and took a straightaway a little hot actually a creast of a hill under a bridge got squirlly and lost control. He almost saved it!!!! That is what people said you will have to ask him to verify wasn't there just heard it 2nd hand from the postings here. The vid is here too. Look at One lap of america thread.

Some dude from from Kicker took it b/c there is an advertisement @ the beginning of the vid.

You are....If you didn't wreck on that track you would have been in the top 3 correct? Everyone was saying how fast you where. You just went a little fast on a track you weren't use to & forgot to put wings on your car or take lessons on jumping from Solberg...lol

Good luck with the car sale!!!!
