Default cat back dumb question

ok, so this is a dumb question i'm sure but i cant seem to find an answer. I'll in the process of buying a brullen cat back exhaust for my 99lob but i have to cats in my car, so does the exhaust bolt up behind the 1st cat, thus cutting out the 2nd cat? or does it bolt upto the 2nd cat and just go back from there? I heard that cutting out one of your cats is bad, causes CEL's and crap like that. any opinions?

thanks..

You are likely confused. There is a part of your midpipe that would appear to be a cat, but really is just a resonator of sorts.

The brullen should bolt up to the actual cat section, thus removing the factory midpipe (2 res.) and the axelback.

The midpipe on top is factory. The end that looks like a cat is not, but rather a resonator.

Actually we covered this once before, that is another cat IIRC(the first flattened cat-looking bit, the cylindrical part is a resonator.) It doesnt throw a CEL though because its behind all available sensors.

But to answer the OP question, a catback does include that midpipe.
